The Mazi ProjectAs a small independent business that tries to have a positive impact on the world, we’ve never been fans of Black Friday. We believe our products are worth what we charge for them. Mass discounting of goods over Black Friday encourages unnecessary consumption, often of cheap, disposable products that soon become landfill.

Having said that, the cost of living crisis in Britain continues to impact our ability to afford the things we need and want. People are looking for great deals in the run up to Christmas – an expensive time for everyone.

Last year TOG ran a very successful ‘Twin Campaign’ over the Black Friday period. We wanted to do something that made a positive impact socially and environmentally whilst at the same time not disappointing those looking to take advantage of Black Friday.

So for 2023, we have decided to do take a similar approach. This time we are partnering with The Mazi Project, an awesome charity based in Southville, Bristol. - just ten minutes away from TOG HQ. The Mazi Project is dedicated to giving young people in Bristol access to fresh and sustainable food. They do this through their Give-A-Box scheme as well as delivering recipe kits to and hosting cooking workshops for victims of domestic abuse, asylum seekers, care leavers and youth recovering from homelessness. As well as providing food for these young people, The Mazi Project aims to empower them by teaching them to cook. It also champions fresh, locally sourced and sustainable food.

TO SUPPORT OUR CUSTOMERS…

From Sunday 12th November 2023 through to midnight on Monday 27th November we will be offering our core range of individual kitchen knives at 20% below their normal price via our website. We are also determined to get people sharpening their own knives, and having good equipment makes this a lot easier, so we're offering 30% off all sharpening products too (except sharpening sets).

TO SUPPORT THE MAZI PROJECT…

Over this same period, TOG will be donating 3% of total sales to The Mazi Project to help them support disadvantaged people aged 16-25.

At TOG, we like this ‘Twin Campaign’ approach because the more orders we receive, the more we can help The Mazi Project carry out their fantastic work.

So whether you’re looking to expand your TOG collection, invest for the first time in a world-class kitchen knife or learn to sharpen, we hope you’ll place an order with us this Black Friday.
